On the hardwood, Buckeyes defeat Bahamas All-Stars in exhibition 88-66

Four Buckeyes scored in double figures led by freshman forward Keita Bates-Diop’s 16 points as Ohio State defeated the Bahamas All-Stars 88-66 in an exhibition game at Isaacs National Gymnasium in Nassau, Thursday night.

Senior forward Sam Thompson came off the bench to score 11, while redshirt freshman guard Kam Williams added 10. Junior forward Trey McDonald notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Buckeyes scored the games first 11 points and coasted to a 30-13 lead at the end of the first quarter. Ohio State claimed their largest lead of the first half on a bucket by Bates-Diop with 29 seconds left in the second quarter to put the Bucks up 51-25, which was the halftime score.

Ohio State held a 68-51 advantage to start the fourth quarter, but the All-Stars got as close as 13 with under six minutes to go before the Buckeyes put them away by going on a 14-5 run to close out the game.

Ohio State was 26-of-69 (52.2%) from the field, 6-of-14 (42.6%) from three-point range, and 10-of-19 (52.6%) from the free throw line. The Bahamas All-Stars shot 33.8 percent (22-65) from the floor, 14.3 percent (3-21) from beyond the arc, and 57.6 percent (19-33) from the charity stripe.

The Buckeyes outrebounded the All-Stars 43-29, but OSU committed 18 turnovers while forcing 16.
