Buckeye football start times, networks shaping up as Rutgers game is set for 3:30 p.m.

The Ohio State University athletic department announced on Tuesday that the Buckeyes’ Homecoming game against Rutgers will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET, and it will be televised on either ESPN, ABC or the Big Ten Network. At the earliest, the network designation won’t come until at least 12 days before the game.

Six of the 12 games now have set start times as Ohio State’s season-opener on Aug. 30 versus Navy at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore will begin at 12 noon ET on the CBS Sports Network, the home game against Virginia Tech on Sept. 6 will start at 8 p.m. on ESPN, and the home game versus Cincinnati on Sept. 27 is set for 6 p.m. ET on BTN. Two more 8 p.m. primetime games are on tap as the Buckeyes will take on Penn State on Oct. 25 and Illinois on Nov. 1. Both of those games will air on one of the Disney-owned networks.
