On Tuesday, the Big Ten Network announced that it will televise the Ohio State-Cincinnati game set for Sept. 27 at Ohio Stadium in Columbus as one of the Buckeyes’ four night games for the upcoming 2014 season.
In all, BTN selected six games to air in primetime this fall that included nine of the 14 conference schools with five of those six contests being league tilts.
“This year’s selections reflect the expanded geography and nationwide appeal of the conference and the network,” said BTN President Mark Silverman, “and gives us our best primetime lineup ever.”
On Sept. 27, BTN will air a doubleheader between the Bearcats and Buckeyes followed by Illinois at Nebraska at 9 p.m. ET.
Last week, the American sports media conglomerate based in Bristol, Connecticut, released its primetime schedule consisting of three Ohio State night games that includes the Buckeyes’ season-opener versus Virginia Tech on Sept. 6, against Penn State in State College on Oct. 25, and the home game against Illinois on Nov. 1. The Virginia Tech game will air on ESPN, while the other two contests against Penn State and Illinois will air on one of the Disney family of networks (ABC, ESPN, or ESPN2). All three will kickoff at 8 p.m. ET.
