Court Report: Buckeyes set to battle Wildcats at Value City Arena, Wednesday night

On Wednesday night, the No. 24/23 Ohio State Buckeyes host the Northwestern Wildcats. Tip-off at Value City Arena is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.

TV and Radio:

The OSU-NU game will be televised on BTN with Eric Collins and Stephen Bardo. On your terrestrial radio dial, WBNS-FM 97.1 The Fan is the flagship station for the 56 outlets on the Ohio State IMG Sports Network. Paul Keels will call the play-by-play with analysis from Ron Stokes. The game can also be heard live via satellite on Sirius 85 and XM 85.

Buckeye Notes:

Ohio State is 20-6 overall and in fifth place in the Big Ten with a 7-6 mark. In the latest RPI rankings, the Buckeyes are 15th with a 3-4 record against teams in the RPI top 50, and are 11-5 against squads in the RPI top 100.

Junior forward LaQuinton Ross leads the team in scoring at 14.4 points per game and senior guard Lenzelle Smith Jr. is second at 11.7 points per outing. Junior center Amir Williams contributes 8.7 points and a team-best 6.1 rebounds per contest. Senior point guard Aaron Craft is averaging 9.5 points, 4.6 assists and 2.5 steals per game.

Wildcat Notes:

Northwestern is 12-14 overall and are ninth in the Big Ten at 5-8. In the RPI, the Wildcats are No. 103 with a record of 2-10 against teams in the RPI top 50, and 4-12 against squads in the RPI top 100.

Three Wildcats average in double figures offensively with fifth-year senior guard Drew Crawford (15.6 ppg.), redshirt junior guard JerShon Cobb (.12.4 ppg.) and sophomore backup guard Tre Demps (10.7 ppg.). Crawford also leads the squad in rebounds with 6.8 caroms per contest. Northwestern started the conference season 0-3 but then rattled off wins in five of the next seven league games. The Wildcats enter the game at Ohio State following three-consecutive losses vs. Nebraska, at Michigan State and most recently at home vs. Minnesota.

Series History:

Ohio State leads the all-time series with the Wildcats 113-45. Ohio State has won the last eight meetings overall and the last 29 games played in Columbus. The Buckeyes last fell to Northwestern in Columbus Feb. 24, 1977. Ohio State is 66-14 overall vs. Northwestern in Columbus. As a ranked team, Ohio State is 36-2 vs. the Wildcats. The Buckeyes have won the last 16 games as a ranked team in the Northwestern series.
