Buckeyes dismantle Maryland in Big Ten/ACC Challenge, 76-60

Junior forward LaQuinton Ross scored 20 points as No. 5/3 Ohio State defeated Maryland, 76-60, in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge at Value City Arena in Columbus, Wednesday night.

With 15:37 left in the first half, Ross drained one of his four, three-pointers of the game as the Buckeyes took the lead for good, which ignited an 9-0 run and Ohio State never looked back.

The Buckeyes took its largest lead of the first half on a steal by senior guard Aaron Craft that led to a layup by junior forward Sam Thompson just before the buzzer to put the Buckeyes up 43-26 at intermission.

It was more of the same in the second stanza as Ohio State led by as many as many as 25 after Craft made a pair of free throws with 6:24 to go that gave the Buckeyes a 70-45 advantage.

For the game, Ohio State was once again was blistering from the field. The Buckeyes were 25-of-48 (52.1%) from the floor, 8-of-18 (44.4%) from three-point range, and 18-of-29 (62.1%) from the free throw line.

Up next, Ohio State hosts Central Connecticut State, this Saturday. Tip-off at Value City Arena is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised on BTN.
