Man, I can’t even take a few weeks off without something major happening! Here are just a few of the things that have transpired while I was away:

The local ABC affiliate in Youngstown, WYTV Channel 33, is reporting that Jamel Turner was shot while riding in the back seat of a Chevrolet Blazer, Friday night.

Turner, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound senior defensive end who committed to play for Ohio State back in December of 2008, suffered gun shot wounds to his left ankle and right hip while traveling with a 32-year man, Ramses Terry, and Turner’s twin brother, Jamal, as the three were traveling southbound on I-680 just south of downtown near the Williamson Ave. interchange. Shortly thereafter, the trio drove to the St. Elizabeth Health Center on the near-north end of town where Jamel was treated for his injuries.

Later, the police searched the Blazer and “found two handguns and two baggies containing what the police believe was marijuana,” according to the Youngstown Vindicator.
