Well, well, well. Ralph G. Decker, who goes by his middle name, Gray, was identified as Ohio State linebacker Tyler Moeller’s attacker in a recent article posted Wednesday morning by the Columbus Dispatch, as reported by Ken Gordon and Tim May.
It appears that Ol’ Ralphie Boy, whose last known address was 5922 48th Ave. N., Kenneth City, Fla., was apparently at Gators Cafe and Saloon in Treasure Island, Fla., which claims on its website that, “If You’re Not a Gator, You’re Gator Bait,” the night that Moeller and his family were there.
The article also states that Ralphie Boy was charge with a second-degree misdemeanor, was booked in the Pinellas County jail and was released on a $150.00 bond.
In a separate article written by Ken Gordon and Tim May that was posted later on Wednesday, “several witnesses say Moeller was punched without provocation.”
Of course, Ralphie Boy’s attorney, Sean McQuaid, from the law firm, Battaglia, Ross, Dicus (pronounced dick-us?) & Wein (pause for laughter…Dick Us & Wine?), says his client has a whole different story.
Well, of course he does. Ralphie Boy doesn’t want to end up someone’s prison bitch, as prosecutors will likely amend the charge and elevate it to a felony, which is punishable up to five years in the big house. Currently a review is ongoing after prosecutors found out the extent of Moeller’s injury.
According to various reports as well as a letter posted on OhioStateBuckeyes.com by Moeller’s mother, apparently just after midnight, Tyler met with his sister at the bar, who was talking to Ralphie Boy. Shortly thereafter, Ralphie Boy questioned whether Tyler played football for Ohio State, though Moeller gave him the wrong name. Ralphie Boy, using his smartphone, looked up Moeller on the internet. Some words were exchanged before Ralphie punched him on the chin and Moeller fell back and hit his head.
In a related article written by Jamal Thalji of the St. Petersburg Times, Assistant State Attorney Richard Ripplinger said, “It sounds like he was sucker punched. It wasn’t even a fight.”
Decker has been in trouble with the law before. He was arrested for grand theft and burglary in 1999 but the charges were dropped. In 2002, Decker was arrested for domestic violence in San Diego County, California, though it’s not known if he was ever convicted.
One thing is fore sure, I hope he gets convicted this time and the judge throws the book at him. Douchebags will be douchebags. He just better not drop the soap.
