In the past two weeks, the 2010 recruiting class for Ohio State has grown from five to eight with the additions of Drew Basil, Roderick Smith and Taylor Graham.

Graham, a 6-foot-4, 211-pound quarterback from Wheaton North High School in Wheaton, Illinois, issued his verbal to coach Tressel and his staff back on June 23.

Graham, the son of former Ohio State quarterback Kent Graham, broke his ankle during the fifth game of the 2008 season in Wheaton North’s 37-28 win over West Aurora and did not play the rest of the year. Overall, Graham finished with 950 yards passing with six touchdowns and one interception in four-plus games.

Roderick Smith, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound running back from Harding High School in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, committed to the Buckeyes last week on July 1.

During the 2008 campaign, Smith rushed for 1,685 yards with 15 touchdowns, and during his three-year career at Harding, he has amassed 5,285 yards on the ground.

According to Rivals.com, Smith is a four-star recruit and is the fifth-best running back in the country.

Also added last week was kicker/punter Drew Basil from Chillicothe (Ohio) High School. According to Scout.com, he’s the fifth-best prospect at his position.

Along with those three, the class of 2010 also includes: linebackers Scott McVey from Cleveland St. Ignatius High School, David Durham from Charlotte (N.C.) Christian School, and Jamel Turner from Youngstown Ursuline High School, plus offensive tackle Andrew Norwell from Cincinnati Anderson and defensive end J.T. Moore from Youngstown Boardman.

The cream of the crop so far just might be Turner and Norwell, who are both tagged with five-stars from Scout.com, while those two as well as Moore were rated four-star recruits by Rivals.com.
