This piece was was more "tongue in cheek" than any serious analysis. I agree that Tressel's ultra-conservative game-planning and play-calling spells doom and gloom for Ohio State in the big games. Plus there have been several times during the course of Tressel's tenure that his Buckeye teams have laid an egg against inferior opponents: - 2007 vs. Akron, where Ohio State led just 3-2 at halftime before winning 20-2. - 2007 vs. Michigan State, where the Buckeyes led 24-0 before giving up two defensvie touchdowns and a field goal, eventually hanging on to win 24-17. - 2006 vs. Illinois, where Ohio State took a 17-0 lead and eventually winning 17-10. - 2004 vs. Marshall, Ohio State needed a 55-yard Mike Nugent field goal as time expired to win 24-21. - 2003 vs. San Diego State, where No. 2 Ohio State won just 16-13 and were held to 196 yards of total offense. The Aztecs had a 20-10 advantage in first downs and had 216 yards in total offense.OSU's lone touchdown was a 100-yard interception return by Will Allen. Moronic?
